Steve and Rachel
A big thank you to all who have stayed with us. It has been our great pleasure. The time has now come to move on, and as of 28th February 2019 we will no longer be taking guests. However, Braemar will be available as a holiday let shortly. Thank you. Steve and Rachel
We like to think we approach your stay with us in an innovative way. It’s more than just a bed and a meal in the morning.
Our extensive experience in the outdoors gives us an in depth knowledge of your requirements if you are walking, and slightly less so, cycling. Our knowledge of the locality will also help us address any queries or problems you may have.
Steve has experience of peaks in the Alps and has summitted Kilimanjaro, expeditions prepared for by years of climbing mountains throughout the UK.
Rachel spent most of her early years in the Lake District living the “Swallows and Amazons” life, sailing, canoeing and climbing in and around Coniston in particular.
We have both completed several long distance walks, including the Coast to Coast and West Highland Way routes.
Lately we have taken to sea kayaking and although our skill levels are still fairly rudimentary, we have enjoyed trips on the West coast of Scotland and the Hebrides.
Most of our holidays are spent under canvas.
We bring all this experience to bear on our new venture, but we like to think it is our friendliness and attention to detail that will make your visit so special.
We welcome your comments, positive and otherwise. In fact we would encourage you to tell us if you feel we could improve our service in any way. We are keenly aware of the positive benefits of fair criticism, so please do not hesitate to let us know.
One of the most adventurous things left us is to go to bed. For no one can lay a hand on our dreams.

Grab a chance and you won't be sorry for what might have been.
